There used to be a kid who hung out at the Athens Y playing basketball with the big kids. Turns out that basketball wasn’t his thang. Actually, he loved it but the other kids were better, so he picked up golf. Jason Brown got pretty good at golf and thought that it may be his ticket out of Athens. Turns out that the third time’s a charm and what actually got his name on the board was music. After the locals like The B-52’s, REM, Widespread Panic and Pylon had made a name for themselves, Jason changed his shtick to Colt Ford and hit the trail. As he’s kicking and clawing and climbing the ladder, he’s attracting more and more fans to his country-rap.
Here are a few photos from a gig Colt performed at the North Georgia State Fair in Marietta, GA in September of 2016. Watch out for this band. They are going places.
